SUMMARY:Selling Art and Craft Online
DESCRIPTION:This informal workshop session is ideal for people who have a handmade product\, or an idea for one\, and are considering starting to sell online. \nThis session will look at: \n\nThe different platforms available – and the advantages and disadvantages of each.\nPostage and packing\nPhotography\nThe legalities of selling online\nWriting product descriptions.\n\nIt’s a brief overview of everything\, but will give you plenty of information and signpost you to more in-depth sources of information. \nAbout the Practitioner: Becka Griffin at Make and Flourish is a professionally-trained graphic artist who has been selling illustrations since 2009. Based in South Liverpool\, Becka is an experienced online seller with over 100\,000 sales across various platforms. She also regularly sells at local in-person events\, and is Captain of the Merseyside Etsy Team. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the programme: \nThis session is part of a programme of workshops designed by Make CIC to provide tailored support to artists\, makers and creatives living in the Liverpool City Region. Each workshop is delivered in person by local expert practitioners who are able to share knowledge and valuable insight on each chosen topic. \nThese workshops are part-funded by the European Social Fund. \nAbout Eligibility: \nThis session is open to individuals living in the Liverpool City Region (Liverpool\, Sefton\, Knowsley\, Wirral\, St Helens\, or Halton) only. \nIn order to access this support for free\, all attendees are required to complete a registration pack prior to the workshop. Whether you want to take part in a class\, become a resident or commission us for a project – Make is where people turn their passions into prosperity. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFAQs \nWhere is the venue – Make Hamilton? \nMake Hamilton is situated at 2 Cleveland Street and is just off Hamilton Square\, a Grade II listed Georgian Square in the heart of Birkenhead. \nWhat are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? \nBy Train: We are a stone’s throw away from Hamilton Square train station which is just a short walk down Cleveland street and accessible from all inner city Liverpool Stations and all Wirral line stations. \nBy Bus: There are numerous bus stops nearby and around the Hamilton Square area\, all just short walks away from our space. These include numbers: 41\, 216\, 217\, 409\, 410\, 411\, 413\, 414\, 423\, 811 and several others. \nBy Car: Follow the signs for Hamilton Square. We don’t have any designated parking for visitors but there is a range of paid and free parking close by. \nPaid parking: \n\nCleveland Street\nPrince Street\nElgin Way\nDuncan Street\nHinson Street\n\nMore on www.wirral.gov.uk/parking-roads-and-travel \nFree and unlimited parking: \n\nRussell Street (5 min walk)\nBrooke Street East (5 min walk)\n\nParking becomes free and unlimited after 6:30pm. Downloading the Just Park app on your mobile device will allow for more efficient and cheaper parking payments. \nHow accessible is the venue? \nThe workshop is located on ground floor which provides full accessibility to the premises including toilet provisions. \nWhat does the registration entail? \nThis workshop is fully funded and attendees will need to complete a registration pack before the event takes place. Make CIC’s Enterprise Manager\, Alison James (AJ)\, will be in contact with you once you have signed up via Eventbrite to complete the registration pack. \nWill refreshments be available? \nWater will be provided at the session.
