SUMMARY:Winter Wellness Workshop: Furniture Painting Techniques
DESCRIPTION:Join our resident furniture upcycling extraordinaire Rachel from Quirky Design Co at Make on the Corner\, Huyton Village for a hands on practical class that will prepare you for your own home upcycling project! \nIn this session Rachel will teach you: \n\nunique ways of adding interest and detail to your furniture using tapes\, stencils\, crackle glaze and gold leaf.\n\nYou will also learn about: \n\ntop coats\nhow to protect your finished furniture without using wax.\n\nA perfect class if you would like to create something unique for your home. \nThis workshop is suitable for complete beginners. \nA complimentary lunch will be provided after the session for all attendees\, plus snacks and drinks throughout. Please let us know of any dietary requirements when registering. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCheck out Rachels beautiful work on Instagram/ Facebook @quirkydesignco_ \n\n\n\n\nAbout our funders: \nThis fully funded programme of activities has been supported by Knowsley Council’s Winter Wellness fund. The space was formerly Albemarle & Bond Pawnbrokers. \nWhat are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? \nBy Bike: There is secure bike storage at the venue. \nBy Train: The nearest train station to the venue is Huyton train station. The station is a 6 minute walk from the venue – You can view directions via google maps here. \nBy Bus: Huyton Bus station is situated a 3 minute walk from the venue. You can view directions via google maps here. \nBy Car: There is free car parking for up to 3 hours situated in Archway Road car park Address: Archway Road car park\, Civic Way\, Huyton\, Merseyside L36 9GD. Archway Road Car Park is a 4 minute walk to the venue – you can view directions via google maps here. DESCRIPTION:Many of us believe we are at the mercy of our emotions\, that they are automatic and that we have no control over them. We might often feel angry\, or depressed or stuck in procrastination and feel powerless to change. \nHowever\, the great news is that we have more control over our emotions than we think. \nIn this first of a two-part series of workshops\, we will explore: \n– What an emotion is – and what it isn’t \n– Why being in control of our emotions is important for good health and every aspect \nof your life\, including running a successful business \n– The four elements that make up an emotional state \n– Scientifically proven ways to change your emotional state quickly\, positively and sustainably \nThis is a fun\, interactive workshop held in a safe\, confidential space. She runs a private practice as a Strategic Intervention Counsellor and works with clients of all ages to help them overcome anxiety\, depression\, addictions\, fears\, and phobias. These include numbers: 41\, 216\, 217\, 409\, 410\, 411\, 413\, 414\, 423\, 811 and several others. \nBy Car: Follow the signs for Hamilton Square.
