SUMMARY:Winter Wellness Workshop for Kids: Introduction to Aquaponics
DESCRIPTION:Join Farm Urban for an exciting chance to see how fish can help us grow food using aquaponics! \nWe will teach you how to build an aquaponic system for growing healthy leafy greens\, while we learn why we need to grow food in a planet friendly way. \nWe need your creativity\, problem solving and teamwork skills for this workshop\, and together we will: \n\nwork out how to build an aquaponic system using no instructions\ndesign a food growing system for our school or home\nplant our own lettuce seeds to continue growing at home\n​A complimentary lunch will be provided after the session for all children who attend\, plus snacks and drinks throughout. Accompanying adults will get hot drinks and biscuits provided. The space was formerly Albemarle & Bond Pawnbrokers. \nWhat are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? \nBy Bike: There is secure bike storage at the venue. \nBy Train: The nearest train station to the venue is Huyton train station. The station is a 6 minute walk from the venue – You can view directions via google maps here. \nBy Bus: Huyton Bus station is situated a 3 minute walk from the venue. You can view directions via google maps here. \nBy Car: There is free car parking for up to 3 hours situated in Archway Road car park Address: Archway Road car park\, Civic Way\, Huyton\, Merseyside L36 9GD. Archway Road Car Park is a 4 minute walk to the venue – you can view directions via google maps here. You can find out more about parking in the area here. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIs the venue accessible? \nThe venue is accessible and is situated on the ground floor however there is no accessible toilet on site. \nIs there a minimum age requirements for this class? \nChildren who are attending must be aged between 5 – 11 years of age and must be accompanied by an adult\, parent or guardian (Maximum 3 children per adult). \nWhere can I contact the organiser with any questions? \nFeel free to get in touch with the Make CIC office at 0151 601 8665 or email hello@makecic.org \nIs my registration/ticket transferrable? \nNo\, we have a long waiting list for each session so please let us know if you are unable to attend so that we can make sure the people on the waiting list get a place. \nDo I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? \nA register will be taken at the workshop\, it isn’t necessary to print your ticket. \nDo I have to live in Knowsley to attend this workshop? \nWe will give priority to Knowsley residents\, however if you are not from Knowsley and would like to attend\, please get in touch with hello@makecic.org and we can add you to the waiting list. \nWho is funding the Winter Wellness Workshops? \nThe Winter Wellness workshops are funded by Knowsley Councils Winter Wellness fund.
