SUMMARY:Winter Wellness Workshop for Kids: Introduction to Aquaponics
DESCRIPTION:Join Farm Urban for an exciting chance to see how fish can help us grow food using aquaponics! \nWe will teach you how to build an aquaponic system for growing healthy leafy greens\, while we learn why we need to grow food in a planet friendly way. \nWe need your creativity\, problem solving and teamwork skills for this workshop\, and together we will: \n\nwork out how to build an aquaponic system using no instructions\ndesign a food growing system for our school or home\nplant our own lettuce seeds to continue growing at home\n​A complimentary lunch will be provided after the session for all children who attend\, plus snacks and drinks throughout. Accompanying adults will get hot drinks and biscuits provided. Please let us know of any dietary requirements when registering. \nChildren must be acompanied by an adult\, parent or guardian and must be aged between 5 – 11 years of age. (Maximum 3 children per accompanying adult)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYou can find our more about Farm Urbans work here. \n\n\n\n\nAbout our funders: \nThis fully funded programme of activities has been supported by Knowsley Council’s Winter Wellness fund. The space was formerly Albemarle & Bond Pawnbrokers. \nWhat are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? \nBy Bike: There is secure bike storage at the venue. \nBy Train: The nearest train station to the venue is Huyton train station. The station is a 6 minute walk from the venue – You can view directions via google maps here. \nBy Bus: Huyton Bus station is situated a 3 minute walk from the venue. You can view directions via google maps here. \nBy Car: There is free car parking for up to 3 hours situated in Archway Road car park Address: Archway Road car park\, Civic Way\, Huyton\, Merseyside L36 9GD. Archway Road Car Park is a 4 minute walk to the venue – you can view directions via google maps here.
