SUMMARY:Introduction to Kombucha
DESCRIPTION:Let’s dive into the fascinating world of kombucha and learn about the simple process that turns tea and any additional flavouring with into a sweet\, fizzy soft drink. Soft drinks are commonly-known as bad for your health\, artificial and addictive… But what if you could easily make a fizzy drink at home that is healthy\, tasty\, and with infinite flavour possibilities? \nKombucha is one of the easiest ferments to make and most importantly maintain at home. Contrary to something more high-maintenance like a sourdough starter\, a kombucha starter\, if stored in the proper conditions\, can be left at room temperature for months without you ever needing to tend to it. Although once you start making kombucha\, there is a chance you won’t want to stop and will always have a batch on the go! \nHave you ever heard of a SCOBY ? Most people recall their first encounter with one as it is quite intriguing. What is this jellyfish-like substance and how does it work ? Not sure about the difference between bacteria and yeast ? Wondering about what to do with a new SCOBY someone might have given you ? SCOBY’s are used to make Kombuch and in this class\, we will answer any question you may have. \nJoin us for this exciting class where you will make your own bottle of Kombucha\, making in unique and personal by adding flavourings of your choice. You will go home with an information booklet containing all the information\, tips and health & safety measures to start your own kombucha projects at home. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Teacher \nDiane is a classically-trained pastry chef\, now making sourdough bread at Fika+ (Chester)\, and working on the field at Cheshire Market Gardens. SUMMARY:Introduction To Kimchi
DESCRIPTION:Originating in Korea centuries ago\, this fermentation technique has recently surged in popularity worldwide. Many shy away from making kimchi at home\, but fear not – it’s much simpler than you think! \nIn our workshop\, we’ll delve into what kimchi truly is\, its rich history and how effortlessly you can whip up a batch in minutes at home. The session concludes with a tasting journey\, exploring diverse ferments crafted from local or foraged ingredients. \nEvery participant will craft their own unique batch of kimchi from scratch\, allowing for a personalised blend of flavors and spices. We’ll provide detailed instructions and ensure you’re well-versed in the health and safety aspects of kimchi-making. \nTo maintain an intimate atmosphere where everyone can learn at their own pace and ask questions freely\, we’re limiting attendance to a small group. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Teacher \nDiane is a classically-trained pastry chef\, now making sourdough bread at Fika+ (Chester)\, and working on the field at Cheshire Market Gardens. Blue badge holders\, please notify us for reserved parking. Nearby public transport available. Easily accessible on foot from Liverpool City Centre. Visit our website for location details (Make North Docks). \n\n\n\n\n\nHow accessible is the venue?\n\n\n\n\nThe workshop is located on the ground floor which provides full accessibility to the premises including toilet provisions. We would advise wheelchair users to contact the workshop provider on the sale of the ticket to arrange a parking bay. \n\n\n\n\n\nWhere can I contact the organiser with any questions?\n\n\n\n\nFeel free to get in touch with the Make CIC office at 0151 601 8665 or email hello@makecic.org \n\n\n\n\n\nWhat can I bring into the event?\n\n\n\n\nYou don’t need to bring anything but yourself as all materials are provided. Wear comfortable clothing and feel free to bring along a drink or a snack if you wish. \n\n\n\n\n\nDo I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?\n\n\n\n\nNo\, a register will be taken at the workshop\, it isn’t necessary to print your ticket. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe name on the registration/ticket doesn’t match the attendee. Is that okay?\n\n\n\n\nPlease bring along a print out of your ticket if the registration does not match the attendee\, or contact hello@makecic.org to have them change the ticket so it contains your name. \n\n\n\n\n\nIs my registration/ticket transferrable?\n\n\n\n\nIf you find that you cannot attend then you are welcome to pass your place on to a friend who may find it useful. Please let the organiser know if you need to do this. Alternatively tickets can be transferred to a future event up to 7 days before the event. \n\n\n\n\n\nWhat if Make CIC cancel the workshop?\n\n\n\n\nThis class does have a minimum requirement of ticket sales to proceed. Refunds will be offered in the event of the class being cancelled – in this instance we will give as much notice as possible and offer alternative dates if appropriate. We cannot be held liable for any travel costs incurred. \n\n\n\n\n\nWhat if I can no longer attend and need to cancel my ticket?\n\n\n\n\nIf for any reason you find you are unable to attend then please get in touch and a refund can be offered up to 7 days before the workshop. *Refunds will be given minus Eventbrite fees\, unless Make CIC cancel the class\, in which case a full refund will be given* \n\n\n\n\n\nWhy is the refund Policy 7 days?\n\n\n\n\nThis is because we pay our practitioners fair wages for their work. Giving refunds on last minute cancellations would mean that practitioners would not be paid for the preparation they have put into their classes.he
