SUMMARY:Winter Wellness Workshop: Spoon Carving Experience
DESCRIPTION:In this 3-hour wood craft workshop you will be guided through the stages of carving a spoon from a prepared blank to a completed spoon you can take home with you. \nThis workshop is suitable for complete beginners. \nThis is an opportunity to experience and become skilled in the use of specialist carving tools\, learning safe and efficient ways of using a carving blade and crook knives as you shape your spoon. \nA complimentary lunch will be provided after the session for all attendees\, plus snacks and drinks throughout. Please let us know of any dietary requirements when registering. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCheck out Grow Wellbeing’s work on Instagram @grow_wellbeing \n\n\n\n\nAbout our funders: \nThis fully funded programme of activities has been supported by Knowsley Council’s Winter Wellness fund. The space was formerly Albemarle & Bond Pawnbrokers. \nWhat are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? \nBy Bike: There is secure bike storage at the venue. \nBy Train: The nearest train station to the venue is Huyton train station. The station is a 6 minute walk from the venue – You can view directions via google maps here. \nBy Bus: Huyton Bus station is situated a 3 minute walk from the venue. You can view directions via google maps here. \nBy Car: There is free car parking for up to 3 hours situated in Archway Road car park Address: Archway Road car park\, Civic Way\, Huyton\, Merseyside L36 9GD. Archway Road Car Park is a 4 minute walk to the venue – you can view directions via google maps here. SUMMARY:Botanical Clay Casting
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is suitable for all abilities and will enable you to create a beautiful keepsake with ease. \nThe botanical art tiles are made by pressing plants\, flowers & objects into clay. They are then removed & plaster is poured over to create the cast. The process picks up an incredible amount of detail to create a beautiful raised impression. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn this workshop we will create two works of art – both the clay imprint and the plaster cast\, in a shape and size of your choice. A lovely memory of summer flowers\, or perhaps more sentimental flowers – a dried wedding bouquet or a relatives favourite flower could be pressed to create a treasured keepsake. The Botanical Impressions and casts make ideal gifts for garden and nature lovers too. \nThe artist will demonstrate how to roll out your clay\, imprint your foliage and create a frame to pour in the plaster of Paris. This will then set over lunch. \nAfter lunch we will delicately paint the plaster cast using acrylic paints and a drybrushing and rubbing technique shown. We can then add a D ring hook to the back of each art piece so they can be hung on the wall or they can be placed on a stand to display. \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis workshop will be lead by Helen Jones theartdoctoruk \nFacebook: theartdoctoruk \nInstagram : The_Art_Doctor_UK \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFAQs \nAre there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? \nAny child under 16 must be accompanied by an adult and we operate a no under 10 policy. \nWhat are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? \nOn street parking is free but limited to 2 hours. Alternatively you can park in our visitor car park. We have 2 parking spaces in the Make North Docks car park that will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Please let us know if you require a blue badge holder and we can reserve your space. Public transport links are nearby\, and the venue is easily accessible on foot from Liverpool City Centre (see our website for more information\, we’re located at Make North Docks). \nHow accessible is the venue? \nThe workshop is located on the ground floor which provides full accessibility to the premises including toilet provisions. We would advise wheelchair users to contact the workshop provider on the sale of the ticket to arrange a parking bay. \nWhere can I contact the organiser with any questions? \nFeel free to get in touch with the Make CIC office at 0151 601 8665 or email hello@makecic.org \nIs my registration/ticket transferrable? \nIf you find that you cannot attend then you are welcome to pass your place on to a friend who may find it useful. Please let the organiser know if you need to do this. \nAlternatively tickets can be transferred to a future event up to 7 days before the event. \nDo I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? \nNo\, a register will be taken at the workshop\, it isn’t necessary to print your ticket. \nWhat is the refund/cancellation policy? \nRefunds will be offered in the event of the class being cancelled – in this instance we will give as much notice as possible\, usually at least 5 days\, and offer alternative dates if appropriate. \nThis class does have a minimum requirement of ticket sales to proceed\, so there is a possibility of it being cancelled\, but we will contact you five days before if this is the case. \nIf for any reason you find you are unable to attend then please get in touch and a refund can be offered up to 7 days before the workshop. \nThis is because we pay our practitioners fair wages for their work- giving refunds on last minute cancellations would mean that practitioners would not be paid for the preparation they have put into their classes. \n*Refunds will be given minus Eventbrite fees\, unless Make CIC cancel the class\, in which case a full refund will be given* \nThe name on the registration/ticket doesn’t match the attendee. Is that okay? \nPlease bring along a print out of your ticket if the registration does not match the attendee\, or contact hello@makecic.org to have them change the ticket so it contains your name. \nWhat can I bring into the event? \nYou don’t need to bring anything but yourself. All materials are provided. \nWe also have an onsite café serving tea\, coffee and delicious cakes and light lunches!
