SUMMARY:Bee Happy: An Introduction to Bees and Beekeeping
DESCRIPTION:You may know how important honey bees are for pollinating food crops and the environment\, but you may not know about the amazing life of bees in their hive. In this short course you will gain insight into the life of a honey bee colony\, and understand what beekeeping involves. \n\n\n\n\n\nDuring this workshop you will learn in a hands-on way about the life of a honey bee colony\, exploring the ins and outs of a hive and running through the stages of hive activity through the year. \nA demonstration hive will allow you to also experience the textures and smells of the inside of a hive. \n\n\n\n\n\nWe will talk through the equipment needed to keep bees\, and for those who are thinking about it\, talk through steps to keeping your own bees. \nAfter refreshments\, we will be pulling on protective bee gear\, and gaining some hands on experience with the Make Hamilton bee hives. SUMMARY:Drink & Draw: Life Drawing
DESCRIPTION:If you enjoy doodling and sketching and want the chance to do some life drawing in a friendly relaxed atmosphere\, then come and check out our monthly class! \nThe sessions take place in our beautiful\, cosy bar and include a cheese board and glass of wine. For those of you who are new to life drawing and maybe feeling a tad awkward or nervous\, having a complimentary glass of wine will help you get into your creative flow! \nThe cheeseboard will be served during the break so please let us know if you have any dietary requirements and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. \n\n\n\n\n\nThis class is for anyone aged 16 or over\, whether you’re a regular at life drawing classes or you can barely hold a pencil\, everyone is welcome. This is an untaught session to come and practise. \nPlease bring whichever materials you feel comfortable working with\, from some charcoal to a biro\, a small sketch pad to A3 sheets of paper. There will be a limited amount of drawing boards and materials\, available on a first come first serve basis. \n\n\n\n\n\nThis session is a chilled out place to have a go if you haven’t drawn before and also a perfect opportunity for the more experienced artists to practise. \nYou are encouraged to come from 6:15pm to chat and find a place. DESCRIPTION:If you enjoy doodling and sketching and want the chance to do some life drawing in a friendly relaxed atmosphere\, then come and check out our monthly class! \nThe sessions take place in our beautiful\, cosy bar and include a cheese board and glass of wine. For those of you who are new to life drawing and maybe feeling a tad awkward or nervous\, having a complimentary glass of wine will help you get into your creative flow! \nThe cheeseboard will be served during the break so please let us know if you have any dietary requirements and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. \n\n\n\n\n\nThis class is for anyone aged 16 or over\, whether you’re a regular at life drawing classes or you can barely hold a pencil\, everyone is welcome. This is an untaught session to come and practise. \nPlease bring whichever materials you feel comfortable working with\, from some charcoal to a biro\, a small sketch pad to A3 sheets of paper. There will be a limited amount of drawing boards and materials\, available on a first come first serve basis. \n\n\n\n\n\nThis session is a chilled out place to have a go if you haven’t drawn before and also a perfect opportunity for the more experienced artists to practise. \nYou are encouraged to come from 6:15pm to chat and find a place. SUMMARY:Eco-resin Terrazzo: Make your own pair of coasters\, Mothers Day Edition!
DESCRIPTION:During this session\, you will learn how to make your own terrazzo coasters! You will have the option to make a pair of round or square coasters and we will teach you how to achieve any colour terrazzo chips and/or coaster base you want. At the end of the session\, your coasters will be ready to take home. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe workshop will be running for approximately 3 hours and will be broken down in 3 parts with a 30 minutes break in between each\, which will allow your creations to dry as well as provide us with the opportunity for a short natter over some complimentary refreshments. \nThis Mother’s Day afternoon session includes coffee and tea as well as special afternoon tea snacks. A small on-site bar will be available to purchase more drinks should you wish to. \nAurélie\, our resident terrazzo extraordinaire and founder of Aura Living\, will teach you all there is to know about eco-resin material\, its different applications\, and show you some other homeware accessory examples she has been making using this great material. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA little more about Aurélie: \n“With a working background as an interior designer\, I began my journey with ceramics about 4 years ago. I first purchased a DIY kit to try it for myself and I feel in love with the process\, the ease of use and little requirement for specialised equipment or space. DESCRIPTION:About this event\n\n\n\n\nIf you enjoy doodling and sketching and want the chance to do some life drawing in a friendly relaxed atmosphere\, then come and check out our monthly class! \nThe sessions take place in our beautiful\, cosy bar and include a cheese board and glass of wine. For those of you who are new to life drawing and maybe feeling a tad awkward or nervous\, having a complimentary glass of wine will help you get into your creative flow! \nThe cheeseboard will be served during the break so please let us know if you have any dietary requirements and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. \n\n\n\n\n\nThis class is for anyone aged 16 or over\, whether you’re a regular at life drawing classes or you can barely hold a pencil\, everyone is welcome. This is an untaught session to come and practise. \nPlease bring whichever materials you feel comfortable working with\, from some charcoal to a biro\, a small sketch pad to A3 sheets of paper. There will be a limited amount of drawing boards and materials\, available on a first come first serve basis. \n\n\n\n\n\nThis session is a chilled out place to have a go if you haven’t drawn before and also a perfect opportunity for the more experienced artists to practise. \nYou are encouraged to come from 6:15pm to chat and find a place. Then\, under Michael’s support and guidance\, you will have a chance to make a 30ml perfume by choosing from an extensive selection of essential oils and fragrance oils. \n\n\n\n\n\nYou will learn about fragrance notes\, fragrance families\, and how to achieve a successful fragrance blend. DESCRIPTION:About this event\n\n\n\n\nTerrazzo Coaster Workshop \nDuring this session\, you will learn how to make your own terrazzo coasters! You will have the option to make a pair of round or square coasters and we will teach you how to achieve any colour terrazzo chips and/or coaster base you want. At the end of the session\, your coasters will be ready to take home. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe workshop will be running for approximately 3 hours and will be broken down in 3 parts with a 30 minutes break in between each\, which will allow your creations to dry as well as provide us with the opportunity for a short natter over some complimentary refreshments. \nOur new evening session includes a glass of prosecco (or a beer or a soft drink if you prefer) on arrival\, as well as a few snacks to share during the breaks. DESCRIPTION:About this event\n\n\n\n\nIf you enjoy doodling and sketching and want the chance to do some life drawing in a friendly relaxed atmosphere\, then come and check out our monthly class! \nThe sessions take place in our beautiful\, cosy bar and include a cheese board and glass of wine. For those of you who are new to life drawing and maybe feeling a tad awkward or nervous\, having a complimentary glass of wine will help you get into your creative flow! \nThe cheeseboard will be served during the break so please let us know if you have any dietary requirements and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. \n\n\n\n\n\nThis class is for anyone aged 16 or over\, whether you’re a regular at life drawing classes or you can barely hold a pencil\, everyone is welcome. DESCRIPTION:Would you like to know how to use herbs to support your wellbeing but don’t know where to start? \nIn this beginners workshop\, you will be introduced to a variety of herbs and shown how to use them to make teas\, tinctures\, oil infusions and balms. An opportunity to indulge in herbalism to discover and connect to the plants growing around us. \n \nThe workshop will include: \n– how to dry & store herbs \n– how to make herbal tea infusions \n– how to make a herbal tincture \n– home made cake and herbal tea tastings \n– how to prepare an oil infusion \n– how to make a soothing balm \nA homemade cake & herbal tea break is included in the workshop\, prepared using herbs grown in our community garden. SUMMARY:Eco-resin Terrazzo: Make your own pair of coasters!
DESCRIPTION:Love terrazzo? Learn the technique whilst making your own coaster set! \nTerrazzo Coaster Workshop \nDuring this session\, you will learn how to make your own terrazzo coasters! You will have the option to make a pair of round or square coasters and we will teach you how to achieve any colour terrazzo chips and/or coaster base you want. At the end of the session\, your coasters will be ready to take home. \n \nThe workshop will be running for approximately 3 hours and will be broken down in 3 parts with a 30 minutes break in between each\, which will allow your creations to dry as well as provide us with the opportunity for a short natter over some complimentary refreshments. \nOur new evening session includes a glass of wine (or a beer or a soft drink if you prefer) on arrival\, as well as a few snacks to share during the breaks. A small on-site bar will be available to purchase more drinks should you wish to. \nAurélie\, our resident terrazzo extraordinaire and founder of Aura Living\, will teach you all there is to know about eco-resin material\, its different applications\, and show you some other homeware accessory examples she has been making using this great material. \n \n \n \nA little more about Aurélie: \n“With a working background as an interior designer\, I began my journey with ceramics about 4 years ago. Unfortunately\, during the first lockdown\, I was no longer able to access the pottery studio which made me research other crafts and activities I could practice from home. This is when I discovered the world of Jesmonite and its endless possibilities. I first purchased a DIY kit to try it for myself and I feel in love with the process\, the ease of use and little requirement for specialised equipment or space. As a designer\, my imagination exploded with the prospect of all the ideas I could materialise using this material. I am now so excited to be sharing my knowledge of this product for you to discover and try out a new craft skill.” \n \n\n\nA note about the class: \nThe class may not be suitable for people who have any hands or wrists problems as the process requires hand sanding and polishing. \nPlease wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a bit of water splashed. DESCRIPTION:Would you like to learn a new technique or develop your sewing skills? Bring along your sewing machine for a lesson in free-motion embroidery focused on a WINTER HOUSES design! \nDanielle will teach you to draw with your sewing machine – no drawing skill necessary. She’ll show you some sneaky tricks. \nYou will leave the session with a completed project ready for you to frame or upcycle. \nBasic knowledge of sewing machine skills useful for this class! She is inspired by cityscapes and landscapes and enjoys pairing monochromatic schemes with vibrant Liberty of London prints. Danielle began in this medium as a way of memorialising the places she has loved; Chester\, Liverpool\, North Yorkshire and North Wales. After numerous requests she began taking commissions on others’ special places. She enjoys replicating others’ memorable locations and adding her own twist with bold lines\, prints and colours.
