DESCRIPTION:A great way to hone your woodworking skills\, or to learn a new skill from scratch\, this four hour hands-on class will take you through the different skills and techniques needed to create your own toolbox! \n\n\n\n\n\nUsing recycled and reclaimed wood\, our woodwork tutor Tommy will walk you through the steps to crafting your very own toolbox. \nBy making your own tool box you’ll learn how to measure and cut wood accurately and safely; as well as sanding\, plaining\, drilling and sawing. \nYou will use \nChop/ Mitre saw -Cut wood at various angles \nBand saw – Rip through timber \nJigsaw – Free form cuts \nDrill driver – Pilot holes & fixing screws \nPillar drill – bore vertical holes \nDisc / Belt sander – Accurate\, powerful sanding \nPalm sander – Versatile sanding \nJoin our class and build your confidence using a range of woodworking tools and techniques\, while making your very own toolbox. \nAll tools\, equipment and materials will be provided on the day. \nPlease arrive 15 mins before the class begins. SUMMARY:Eco-resin Terrazzo: Make your own pair of coasters\, Mothers Day Edition!
DESCRIPTION:During this session\, you will learn how to make your own terrazzo coasters! You will have the option to make a pair of round or square coasters and we will teach you how to achieve any colour terrazzo chips and/or coaster base you want. At the end of the session\, your coasters will be ready to take home. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe workshop will be running for approximately 3 hours and will be broken down in 3 parts with a 30 minutes break in between each\, which will allow your creations to dry as well as provide us with the opportunity for a short natter over some complimentary refreshments. \nThis Mother’s Day afternoon session includes coffee and tea as well as special afternoon tea snacks. A small on-site bar will be available to purchase more drinks should you wish to. \nAurélie\, our resident terrazzo extraordinaire and founder of Aura Living\, will teach you all there is to know about eco-resin material\, its different applications\, and show you some other homeware accessory examples she has been making using this great material. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA little more about Aurélie: \n“With a working background as an interior designer\, I began my journey with ceramics about 4 years ago. Unfortunately\, during the first lockdown\, I was no longer able to access the pottery studio which made me research other crafts and activities I could practice from home. This is when I discovered the world of Jesmonite and its endless possibilities. I first purchased a DIY kit to try it for myself and I feel in love with the process\, the ease of use and little requirement for specialised equipment or space. As a designer\, my imagination exploded with the prospect of all the ideas I could materialise using this material. I am now so excited to be sharing my knowledge of this product for you to discover and try out a new craft skill.” \n\n\n\n\n\nA note about the class: \nThe class may not be suitable for people who have any hands or wrists problems as the process requires hand sanding and polishing. \nPlease wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a bit of water splashed. Looking for the perfect Mothers Day gift\, or just a different way to spend your day? \nPerfume making workshops give you the opportunity to find out more about the perfume making process\, create a perfume of your own and explore the creative possibilities of fragrance in a fun and informal way. \nThis 2 hour workshop begins with Michael introducing his artistic approach to perfumery and giving a working demonstration of how to make an Eau De Toilette. \nMichael will guide you through all aspects of perfume design including an explanation of fragrance types\, an introduction to fragrance notes and how to blend oils to achieve the perfect fragrance. Then\, under Michael’s support and guidance\, you will have a chance to make a 30ml perfume by choosing from an extensive selection of essential oils and fragrance oils. \n\n\n\n\n\nYou will learn about fragrance notes\, fragrance families\, and how to achieve a successful fragrance blend. You will also get the chance to decorate the bottle and you will be able to take the perfume home on the day. \nThis workshop is suitable for everyone and is a great introduction into the art of perfumery\, a great way of learning a new skill and a brilliant opportunity to create something truly unique. DESCRIPTION:About this event\n\n\n\n\nIf you enjoy doodling and sketching and want the chance to do some life drawing in a friendly relaxed atmosphere\, then come and check out our monthly class! \nThe sessions take place in our beautiful\, cosy bar and include a cheese board and glass of wine. For those of you who are new to life drawing and maybe feeling a tad awkward or nervous\, having a complimentary glass of wine will help you get into your creative flow! \nThe cheeseboard will be served during the break so please let us know if you have any dietary requirements and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. \n\n\n\n\n\nThis class is for anyone aged 16 or over\, whether you’re a regular at life drawing classes or you can barely hold a pencil\, everyone is welcome. This is an untaught session to come and practise. \nPlease bring whichever materials you feel comfortable working with\, from some charcoal to a biro\, a small sketch pad to A3 sheets of paper. There will be a limited amount of drawing boards and materials\, available on a first come first serve basis. \n\n\n\n\n\nThis session is a chilled out place to have a go if you haven’t drawn before and also a perfect opportunity for the more experienced artists to practise. \nYou are encouraged to come from 6:15pm to chat and find a place. Looking for the perfect Christmas or valentines day gift\, or just a different way to spend your day? \nPerfume making workshops give you the opportunity to find out more about the perfume making process\, create a perfume of your own and explore the creative possibilities of fragrance in a fun and informal way. \nThis 2 hour workshop begins with Michael introducing his artistic approach to perfumery and giving a working demonstration of how to make an Eau De Toilette. \nMichael will guide you through all aspects of perfume design including an explanation of fragrance types\, an introduction to fragrance notes and how to blend oils to achieve the perfect fragrance. Then\, under Michael’s support and guidance\, you will have a chance to make a 30ml perfume by choosing from an extensive selection of essential oils and fragrance oils. \n\n\n\n\n\nYou will learn about fragrance notes\, fragrance families\, and how to achieve a successful fragrance blend. DESCRIPTION:About this event\n\n\n\n\nTerrazzo Coaster Workshop \nDuring this session\, you will learn how to make your own terrazzo coasters! You will have the option to make a pair of round or square coasters and we will teach you how to achieve any colour terrazzo chips and/or coaster base you want. At the end of the session\, your coasters will be ready to take home. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe workshop will be running for approximately 3 hours and will be broken down in 3 parts with a 30 minutes break in between each\, which will allow your creations to dry as well as provide us with the opportunity for a short natter over some complimentary refreshments. \nOur new evening session includes a glass of prosecco (or a beer or a soft drink if you prefer) on arrival\, as well as a few snacks to share during the breaks. DESCRIPTION:Join our introduction to woodwork class\, part of Make CIC’s woodwork programme for beginners and learn some new skills. Every second Saturday of the month. \n\n\nAbout this event \n\n\n\nA great way to hone your woodworking skills\, or to learn a new skill from scratch\, this four hour hands-on class will take you through the different skills and techniques needed to create your own wine rack in a safe and socially distanced way! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUsing recycled and reclaimed wood\, our workshop manager will guide you through the different steps to crafting your very own wine rack. By making your own wine rack you’ll learn how to measure and cut wood accurately and safely; as well as sanding\, planing\, drilling and sawing. \nYou will use: \nChop/ Mitre saw – Cut wood at various angles \nBand saw – Rip through timber \nJigsaw – Free form cuts \nDrill driver – Pilot holes & fixing screws \nPillar drill – bore vertical holes \nDisc / Belt sander – Accurate\, powerful sanding \nPalm sander – Versitile sanding \nThe great thing about joining onto our Introduction to Woodwork class is\, once you’ve been inducted into the class and introduced to all of our equipment here at Make Liverpool\, you’ll be fully inducted into Make Liverpool’s workshop! DESCRIPTION:About this event\n\n\n\n\nIf you enjoy doodling and sketching and want the chance to do some life drawing in a friendly relaxed atmosphere\, then come and check out our monthly class! \nThe sessions take place in our beautiful\, cosy bar and include a cheese board and glass of wine. For those of you who are new to life drawing and maybe feeling a tad awkward or nervous\, having a complimentary glass of wine will help you get into your creative flow! \nThe cheeseboard will be served during the break so please let us know if you have any dietary requirements and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. \n\n\n\n\n\nThis class is for anyone aged 16 or over\, whether you’re a regular at life drawing classes or you can barely hold a pencil\, everyone is welcome. This is an untaught session to come and practise. \nPlease bring whichever materials you feel comfortable working with\, from some charcoal to a biro\, a small sketch pad to A3 sheets of paper. There will be a limited amount of drawing boards and materials\, available on a first come first serve basis. \n\n\n\n\n\nThis session is a chilled out place to have a go if you haven’t drawn before and also a perfect opportunity for the more experienced artists to practise. \nYou are encouraged to come from 6:15pm to chat and find a place. DESCRIPTION:Would you like to know how to use herbs to support your wellbeing but don’t know where to start? \nIn this beginners workshop\, you will be introduced to a variety of herbs and shown how to use them to make teas\, tinctures\, oil infusions and balms. An opportunity to indulge in herbalism to discover and connect to the plants growing around us. \n \nThe workshop will include: \n– how to dry & store herbs \n– how to make herbal tea infusions \n– how to make a herbal tincture \n– home made cake and herbal tea tastings \n– how to prepare an oil infusion \n– how to make a soothing balm \nA homemade cake & herbal tea break is included in the workshop\, prepared using herbs grown in our community garden. DESCRIPTION:Love terrazzo? Learn the technique whilst making your own coaster set! \nTerrazzo Coaster Workshop \nDuring this session\, you will learn how to make your own terrazzo coasters! You will have the option to make a pair of round or square coasters and we will teach you how to achieve any colour terrazzo chips and/or coaster base you want. At the end of the session\, your coasters will be ready to take home. \n \nThe workshop will be running for approximately 3 hours and will be broken down in 3 parts with a 30 minutes break in between each\, which will allow your creations to dry as well as provide us with the opportunity for a short natter over some complimentary refreshments. \nOur new evening session includes a glass of wine (or a beer or a soft drink if you prefer) on arrival\, as well as a few snacks to share during the breaks. A small on-site bar will be available to purchase more drinks should you wish to. \nAurélie\, our resident terrazzo extraordinaire and founder of Aura Living\, will teach you all there is to know about eco-resin material\, its different applications\, and show you some other homeware accessory examples she has been making using this great material. \n \n \n \nA little more about Aurélie: \n“With a working background as an interior designer\, I began my journey with ceramics about 4 years ago. Unfortunately\, during the first lockdown\, I was no longer able to access the pottery studio which made me research other crafts and activities I could practice from home. I first purchased a DIY kit to try it for myself and I feel in love with the process\, the ease of use and little requirement for specialised equipment or space. As a designer\, my imagination exploded with the prospect of all the ideas I could materialise using this material. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a festive edition of our terrazzo workshop! \nTerrazzo Coaster Workshop \nDuring this session\, you will learn how to make your own terrazzo coasters! You will have the option to make a pair of round or square coasters and we will teach you how to achieve any colour terrazzo chips and/or coaster base you want. At the end of the session\, your coasters will be ready to take home. \n  \n \nThe workshop will be running for approximately 3 hours and will be broken down in 3 parts with a 30 minutes break in between each\, which will allow your creations to dry as well as provide us with the opportunity for a short natter over some complimentary refreshments. \nThis festive evening session includes festive drinks and festive snacks. A small on-site bar will be available to purchase more drinks should you wish to. \nAurélie\, our resident terrazzo extraordinaire and founder of Aura Living\, will teach you all there is to know about eco-resin material\, its different applications\, and show you some other homeware accessory examples she has been making using this great material. \n \n \n \nA little more about Aurélie: \n“With a working background as an interior designer\, I began my journey with ceramics about 4 years ago. Unfortunately\, during the first lockdown\, I was no longer able to access the pottery studio which made me research other crafts and activities I could practice from home. I first purchased a DIY kit to try it for myself and I feel in love with the process\, the ease of use and little requirement for specialised equipment or space. As a designer\, my imagination exploded with the prospect of all the ideas I could materialise using this material. DESCRIPTION:Terrazzo Coaster Workshop \nDuring this session\, you will learn how to make your own terrazzo coasters! You will have the option to make a pair of round or square coasters and we will teach you how to achieve any colour terrazzo chips and/or coaster base you want. At the end of the session\, your coasters will be ready to take home. \n \nThe workshop will be running for approximately 3 hours and will be broken down in 3 parts with a 30 minutes break in between each\, which will allow your creations to dry as well as provide us with the opportunity for a short natter over some complimentary refreshments. \nOur new evening session includes a glass of wine (or a beer or a soft drink if you prefer) on arrival\, as well as a few snacks to share during the breaks. Join us for a look inside the bus\, followed by a talk from creator Darren Cullen. \n\nAbout this event: \n\n\n\n\nHell Bus – Darren Cullen aka Spelling Mistakes Cost Lives \nDarren is a satirical artist from Leeds\, now based in south London where he runs the Museum of Neoliberalism. DESCRIPTION:Join our introduction to woodwork class\, part of Make CIC’s woodwork programme for beginners and learn some new skills. Every second Saturday of the month. \n\n\nAbout this event \n\n\n\nA great way to hone your woodworking skills\, or to learn a new skill from scratch\, this four hour hands-on class will take you through the different skills and techniques needed to create your own wine rack in a safe and socially distanced way! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUsing recycled and reclaimed wood\, our workshop manager will guide you through the different steps to crafting your very own wine rack. By making your own wine rack you’ll learn how to measure and cut wood accurately and safely; as well as sanding\, planing\, drilling and sawing. \nYou will use: \nChop/ Mitre saw – Cut wood at various angles \nBand saw – Rip through timber \nJigsaw – Free form cuts \nDrill driver – Pilot holes & fixing screws \nPillar drill – bore vertical holes \nDisc / Belt sander – Accurate\, powerful sanding \nPalm sander – Versitile sanding \nThe great thing about joining onto our Introduction to Woodwork class is\, once you’ve been inducted into the class and introduced to all of our equipment here at Make Liverpool\, you’ll be fully inducted into Make Liverpool’s workshop! SUMMARY:Level 1 Mindful Macramé: Sustainable Plant Hanger Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join us for this beginners workshop that will give you the skills needed to start your own macramé journey! \n\n\nAbout this event: \n\n\n\n\nThe session is run by local macrame and fibre artist\, Vicki\, owner of Tassel and Twine Design. \nYou will spend the afternoon learning the basic knots and techniques that form the foundation of macrame. Using high quality recycled cotton and sustainably sourced wood you will put your new found skills to great use creating a beautiful plant hanger of your very own. \n \nThe workshop combines crafting with intention setting and mindfulness techniques to create a calming and restorative learning experience designed to support your personal wellbeing. \nCome along to have fun and craft\, in a beautiful creative space. It’s a great opportunity to learn a new skill in a relaxed environment. \n \n \nAll materials are recycled and/or ethically sourced & provided as part of of the workshop\, except for pots and plants. \nCheck out Vicki’s work: \nFacebook / Instagram: @tasselantwinedesign \n \nAre there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? \nAny child under 16 must be accompanied by an adult and we operate a no under 10 policy. \nWhat are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? \nOn street parking is free but limited to 2 hours so vehicle drivers will need a permit for street parking. \nPublic transport links are nearby\, and the venue is easily accessible on foot from Liverpool City Centre (see our website for more information\, we’re located at Make North Docks). \nPlease let us know if you require a blue badge holder and we can reserve your space. \nHow accessible is the venue? \nThe workshop is located on the ground floor which provides full accessibility to the premises including toilet provisions. We would advise wheelchair users to contact the workshop provider on the sale of the ticket to arrange a parking bay. \nWhere can I contact the organiser with any questions? \nFeel free to get in touch with the Make CIC office at 0151 601 8665 or email hello@makecic.org \nIs my registration/ticket transferrable? \nIf you find that you cannot attend then you are welcome to pass your place on to a friend who may find it useful. Please let the organiser know if you need to do this. \nAlternatively tickets can be transferred to a future event up to 7 days before the event. \nDo I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? \nNo\, a register will be taken at the workshop\, it isn’t necessary to print your ticket. \nWhat is the refund/cancellation policy? \nRefunds will be offered in the event of the class being cancelled – in this instance we will give as much notice as possible\, usually at least 5 days\, and offer alternative dates if appropriate. \nThis class does have a minimum requirement of ticket sales to proceed\, so there is a possibility of it being cancelled\, but we will contact you five days before if this is the case. \nIf for any reason you find you are unable to attend then please get in touch and a refund can be offered up to 7 days before the workshop. \nThis is because we pay our practitioners fair wages for their work- giving refunds on last minute cancellations would mean that practitioners would not be paid for the preparation they have put into their classes. \n*Refunds will be given minus Eventbrite fees\, unless Make CIC cancel the class\, in which case a full refund will be given* \nThe name on the registration/ticket doesn’t match the attendee. Is that okay? \nPlease bring along a print out of your ticket if the registration does not match the attendee\, or contact hello@makecic.org to have them change the ticket so it contains your name. \nWhat can I bring into the event? \nYou don’t need to bring anything but yourself. All materials are provided and we also have a café on site selling coffee\, tea and delicious lunches/ snacks. Wear comfortable clothing and feel free to bring along a drink or a snack if you prefer.
