These include numbers: 41\, 216\, 217\, 409\, 410\, 411\, 413\, 414\, 423\, 811 and several others. \nBy Car: \nFollow the signs for Hamilton Square. We don’t have any designated parking for visitors but there is a range of paid and free parking close by. \nPaid parking: \n– Cleveland Street \n– Prince Street \n– Elgin Way \n– Duncan Street \n– Hinson Street \nMore on wirral.gov.uk/parking-roads-and-travel \nFree and unlimited parking: \n– Russell Street (5 min walk) \n– Brooke Street East (5 min walk) \nParking becomes free and unlimited after 6:30pm. \nDownloading the Just Park app on your mobile device will allow for more efficient and cheaper parking payments. \nHow accessible is the venue? \nThe café is located on the ground floor which provides full accessibility to the premises including toilet provisions. \nWhere can I contact the organiser with any questions? \nFeel free to get in touch with the Make CIC office at 0151 601 8665 or email hello@makecic.org \nDo I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? \nThis is a free event\, it isn’t necessary to print your ticket. \n\n\n

SUMMARY:Intro to Beekeeping: Honey Harvesting
DESCRIPTION:This workshop will take you step by step through the honey extraction process on our working hives in the Make Hamilton community garden. \n\n\nAbout this event \n\n\n\nThe bees at Make Hamilton have been working hard over the summer months\, gathering nectar and pollen and building up stores of honey in their hives. The honey will be harvested at the end of summer\, and this workshop gives you the opportunity to experience the harvesting first-hand. \n \nThe workshop is split into two parts. First\, we will introduce you to how a hive works\, and how the bees store their honey. We will talk through the cycle of honey production\, and the life of a colony through a typical year. We’ll pull on beekeeping veils and head outside where you’ll have the chance to look inside a hive to see the bees working on their honeycomb. \nIn the second part of the workshop we will return indoors to experience the process of extracting honey by spinning honeycomb frames. You will handle honeycombs\, and experience the smells and stickiness that go with that! You’ll get to use the extractor\, and watch the honey being spun out of the frames then collected for bottling. \n \n \nThe session is very interactive\, and will respond to the questions and interests of participants. The session is led by John\, who has kept bees for many years\, and is the resident beekeeper at Make. \nAll equipment/ protective bee suits will be provided\, but please come wearing long sleeved tops\, full length trousers and closed shoes (i.e. no sandals). \n \n \n\n\n\n\nFAQs: \nDo I need any experience prior to the class? \nNo prior experience is necessary\, all health and safety will be taught by our experienced technician. \nAre there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? \nAny child under 18 must be accompanied by an adult\, this particular class is not suitable for individuals under 16.
\n \n \nFAQs: \nDo I need any experience prior to the class? \nNo prior experience is necessary\, all health and safety will be taught by our experienced technician. \nAre there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? \nAny child under 18 must be accompanied by an adult\, this particular class is not suitable for individuals under 16. SUMMARY:Terrazzo Arch Tray: Level 2 Terrazzo Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Using the skills you learnt in the level 1 session (Terrazzo Coasters: Level 1 Terrazzo Workshop)\, this time we will create a bigger piece! \n  \n\n\nAbout this event\n\n\n\nTerrazzo Arch Tray: Level 2 Terrazzo Workshop \nDuring this session\, you will make a terrazzo-pattern arch display tray\, using an eco-resin material called Jesmonite. Using the skills you learnt in the level 1 session (Terrazzo Coasters: Level 1 Terrazzo Workshop)\, we will this time create a bigger piece! You will still be able to create any colour chips and/or base you want while honing your skills making a beautiful terrazzo-pattern homeware piece. \nIn recent years\, Jesmonite has become the go-to material for designers and artists looking for an environmentally conscious alternative to traditional resin based products. Originally used in the construction industry\, Jesmonite is an acrylic-modified gypsum (plaster) composite that offers an eco-friendly and safe alternative to fibreglass\, and provides a lightweight substitute to concrete. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe workshop will last approximately 3.5 hours and is broken down in 3 parts with a 30 minutes break in between each\, which will allow your work to dry as well as provide us with the opportunity for a short natter over a coffee. \n\n\n\n\n\nAurélie\, our resident terrazzo extraordinaire and founder of Aura Living will teach you all there is to know about this eco-resin material\, its different applications\, and show you some other homeware accessory examples we have been making using this great material. She will also show you how to achieve any colour chips and/or base you wish to make using primary colour pigments. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nA little more about Aurélie… \n“With a working background as an interior designer\, I began my journey with traditional ceramic making about 4 years ago. Unfortunately\, during the first lockdown\, I was no longer able to access the pottery studio which made me research other crafts and activities I could practice from home. I discovered the world of eco-resin and its endless possibilities when I purchased a DIY kit to try it for myself. I fell in love with the process\, the ease of use and little requirement for specialised equipment or space\, while allowing you to create hardwearing homeware accessories using a wide range of techniques\, including my most favourite; terrazzo!. As a designer\, my imagination exploded with the prospect of all the ideas I could materialise using this material. I am now so excited to be sharing my knowledge of this product for you to discover and try out a new craft skill.” \n\n\n\n\n\nA note about the class:- \nThe class may not be suitable for people who have any wrist problems as there is quite a lot of sanding involved in the process. \nWear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a bit of water splashed. The paint used will wash off\, but avoid wearing your best clothes! \n\n\n\n\n\n\nFAQs: \nAre there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? \nAny child under 16 must be accompanied by an adult and we operate a no under 10 policy. \nWhat are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? \nOn street parking is free and unlimited. Public transport links are nearby\, and the venue is easily accessible on foot from Liverpool City Centre. \nHow accessible is the venue? \nThe workshop is located on the ground floor which provides full accessibility to the premises including toilet provisions. We would advise wheelchair users to contact the workshop provider on the sale of the ticket to arrange a parking bay. \nWhere can I contact the organiser with any questions? \nFeel free to get in touch with the Make CIC office at 0151 601 8665 or email hello@makecic.org \nIs my registration/ticket transferrable? \nIf you find that you cannot attend then you are welcome to pass your place on to a friend who may find it useful. Please let the organiser know if you need to do this. \nAlternatively tickets can be transferred to a future event up to 14 days before the event. \nDo I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? \nNo\, a register will be taken at the workshop\, it isn’t necessary to print your ticket. \nWhat is the refund/cancellation policy? \nRefunds will be offered in the event of the class being cancelled – in this instance we will give as much notice as possible\, usually at least 5 days\, and offer alternative dates if appropriate. \nThis class does have a minimum requirement of ticket sales to proceed\, so there is a possibility of it being cancelled\, but we will contact you five days before if this is the case. \nIf for any reason you find you are unable to attend then please get in touch and a refund can be offered up to 7 days before the workshop. \nThis is because we pay our practitioners fair wages for their work- giving refunds on last minute cancellations would mean that practitioners would not be paid for the preparation they have put into their classes. \n*Refunds will be given minus Eventbrite fees\, unless Make CIC cancel the class\, in which case a full refund will be given* \nThe name on the registration/ticket doesn’t match the attendee. Is that okay? \nPlease bring along a print out of your ticket if the registration does not match the attendee\, or contact hello@makecic.org to have them change the ticket so it contains your name. \nWhat can I bring into the event? \nYou don’t need to bring anything but yourself. All materials are provided and we also have a café on site selling coffee\, tea and delicious lunches/ snacks. Wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty and feel free to bring along a drink or a snack if you prefer. \nI have symptoms of COVID-19 or have been told to self isolate after being in contact with someone with COVID-19 can I get a refund? \nWe can refund your ticket or transfer your ticket to a future class/workshop if you let us know 7 or more days prior to the class or workshop. \nWe can refund your ticket up to 5 days before the event if you can provide evidence of a positive test result or instructions to self isolate if we manage to re-sell the ticket. We will do our best to do so\, but cannot guarantee a refund. \nWe cannot refund your ticket in the 5 days prior to the event. You are welcome to pass your ticket on to a friend or family member but please let us know who the new ticket holder is in advance. \nThis is because we pay our practitioners fair wages for their work- giving refunds on last minute cancellations would mean that practitioners would not be paid for the preparation they have put into their classes.
