DESCRIPTION:Join our introduction to woodwork class\, part of Make CIC’s woodwork programme for beginners and learn some new skills. Every second Saturday of the month. \n\n\nAbout this event \n\n\n\nA great way to hone your woodworking skills\, or to learn a new skill from scratch\, this four hour hands-on class will take you through the different skills and techniques needed to create your own wine rack in a safe and socially distanced way! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUsing recycled and reclaimed wood\, our workshop manager will guide you through the different steps to crafting your very own wine rack. By making your own wine rack you’ll learn how to measure and cut wood accurately and safely; as well as sanding\, planing\, drilling and sawing. \nYou will use: \nChop/ Mitre saw – Cut wood at various angles \nBand saw – Rip through timber \nJigsaw – Free form cuts \nDrill driver – Pilot holes & fixing screws \nPillar drill – bore vertical holes \nDisc / Belt sander – Accurate\, powerful sanding \nPalm sander – Versitile sanding \nThe great thing about joining onto our Introduction to Woodwork class is\, once you’ve been inducted into the class and introduced to all of our equipment here at Make Liverpool\, you’ll be fully inducted into Make Liverpool’s workshop! So if you decide woodwork is for you want to come back to work on your own projects\, all you’ll need to do is sign up. When you’ve attended a class\, you’ll be entitled to a discount on your first month of membership as well! Just email hello@makeliverpool.com to find out more. \nJoin our class and build your confidence using a range of woodworking tools and techniques\, while making your very own wine rack. \nAll tools\, equipment and materials will be provided on the day. \nPlease arrive 15 mins before the class begins. There will also be a short break during the session. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFAQs: \nDo I need any experience prior to the class? \nNo prior wood working experience is necessary\, all health and safety will be taught by our experienced technician. \nAre there ID or minimum age requirements for this class? \nThe class is for people ages 16+. \nWhat are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? \nOn street parking is free but limited to 2 hours so vehicle drivers will need a permit for street parking. We will do our best to do so\, but cannot guarantee a refund. \nWe cannot refund your ticket in the 5 days prior to the event. You are welcome to pass your ticket on to a friend or family member but please let us know who the new ticket holder is in advance. \nThis is because we pay our practitioners fair wages for their work- giving refunds on last minute cancellations would mean that practitioners would not be paid for the preparation they have put into their classes. \n\n\n\n\n*********COVID 19************** \nWe have taken every possible step to ensure this class is run safely. \nSocial distancing measures are in place at Make. \nWe ask that everyone who enters Make’s premises uses the NHS track and trace app\, signs in and wears a face covering\, if not exempt. \nHand sanitiser and face coverings will be provided if needed. \n**PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND IF YOU HAVE SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19** \nFor more specific info on our policies and procedures please email rosie.ashton@makecic.org \n  \n\nEvery second Saturday of the month.
