Join us for a beginner-friendly workshop on Clothing Repairs with Bethan! If you’ve never hand-sewn or dyed clothing before, fear not – this class is tailored just for you.
In this hands-on session, you’ll discover the art of upcycling and repairing clothing, focusing on practical skills that will breathe new life into your wardrobe. Together, we’ll transform a plain tote bag into a personalized masterpiece by sewing on buttons, mending holes, adding patches, and exploring the vibrant world of tie-dye.
Throughout the workshop, Bethan will guide you through the basics, ensuring you leave with newfound abilities in:
- Sewing on a button
- Repairing clothing holes
- Patching up damaged areas
- Mastering tie-dye techniques
These essential skills will empower you to revive your old or damaged clothing at home, making sustainability and creativity the focal points of your wardrobe. Don’t miss this opportunity to embark on a journey of DIY fashion with us!
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners.
A complimentary lunch will be provided after the session for all attendees, plus snacks and drinks throughout. Please let us know of any dietary requirements when registering.

Where is the venue – Make on the Corner?
Make on the Corner is situated at 22 Derby Road which is on the pedestrianised High Street in Huyton Village. The space was formerly Albemarle & Bond Pawnbrokers.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
By Bike: There is secure bike storage at the venue.
By Train: The nearest train station to the venue is Huyton train station. The station is a 6 minute walk from the venue – You can view directions via google maps here.
By Bus: Huyton Bus station is situated a 3 minute walk from the venue. You can view directions via google maps here.
By Car: There is free car parking for up to 3 hours situated in Archway Road car park Address: Archway Road car park, Civic Way, Huyton, Merseyside L36 9GD. Is the venue accessible?
The venue is accessible and is situated on the ground floor however there is no accessible toilet on site.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements for this class?
This is an adult workshop for people aged 18+.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
No, we have a long waiting list for each session so please let us know if you are unable to attend so that we can make sure the people on the waiting list get a place.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
A register will be taken at the workshop, it isn’t necessary to print your ticket.
Do I have to live in Knowsley to attend this workshop?
We will give priority to Knowsley residents, however if you are not from Knowsley and would like to attend, please get in touch with hello@makecic.org and we can add you to the waiting list.
