Winter Wellness Workshop for Kids: Intro to Tie Dye

An introduction to tie dye is a perfect class for all children, whether they’ve done it before or they’re a complete beginner.

Bethan will walk them through the basics of tie dye including:

  • how to fold materials to create different patterns
  • how to tie materials
  • dye application
  • instruction on how to look after the item once created!

​A complimentary lunch will be provided after the session for all children who attend, plus snacks and drinks throughout. Accompanying adults will get hot drinks and biscuits provided. Please let us know of any dietary requirements when registering.

Children must be acompanied by an adult, parent or guardian and must be aged between 5 – 11 years of age. (Maximum 4 children per accompanying adult)

Within this class attendees will be provided with a plain tote bag to dye to their preferred style.

Protective equipment will be provided including an apron and gloves, however the dye can be messy so please don’t wear your best clothes!

Where is the venue – Make on the Corner?

Make on the Corner is situated at 22 Derby Road which is on the pedestrianised High Street in Huyton Village. The space was formerly Albemarle & Bond Pawnbrokers.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

By Bike: There is secure bike storage at the venue.

By Train: The nearest train station to the venue is Huyton train station. The station is a 6 minute walk from the venue – You can view directions via google maps here.

By Bus: Huyton Bus station is situated a 3 minute walk from the venue. You can view directions via google maps here.

By Car: There is free car parking for up to 3 hours situated in Archway Road car park Address: Archway Road car park, Civic Way, Huyton, Merseyside L36 9GD. Archway Road Car Park is a 4 minute walk to the venue – you can view directions via google maps here. You can find out more about parking in the area here.

Is the venue accessible?

The venue is accessible and is situated on the ground floor however there is no accessible toilet on site.

Is there a minimum age requirements for this class?

Children who are attending must be aged between 5 – 11 years of age and must be accompanied by an adult, parent or guardian (Maximum 4 children per adult).

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

No, we have a long waiting list for each session so please let us know if you are unable to attend so that we can make sure the people on the waiting list get a place.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

A register will be taken at the workshop, it isn’t necessary to print your ticket.

Do I have to live in Knowsley to attend this workshop?

We will give priority to Knowsley residents, however if you are not from Knowsley and would like to attend, please get in touch with hello@makecic.org and we can add you to the waiting list.

Meet the Teacher – Bethan Flanagan

Bethan is the founder of Buy by Bethan, a sustainable clothing boutique reworking clothing from drab to fab using number of different techniques including bleaching, dying, gluing, sewing and painting. Here at Make CIC Bethan runs a Tie Dye Class and a reworking class, where you can learn new ways of making your old unloved jacket into your new favourite!
