Winter Arkade & Winter Arts Market Favourites

Twas the month before Christmas, when all through the city… markets showcased the best of the region’s independents. So, just in case you missed either, here is a round up of some of our favourites from the marvelous WINTER ARTS MARKET and the Awesome WINTER ARKADE.
 

Things by us

 
Prints and other things by Mark and Abe gave shoppers two brilliant choices in one stall. Things by us is a duo made up of graphic designer Mark Adamson and illustrator Abigail Sinclair, and together they design and print the wonderful products that you see in this shop.
Our favourite: was either the pigeon Riso Print or the Yeti

Sophie Corrigan

 
Sophie (AKA: LadyAxolotl) is a very talented illustrator and authour whos animal anatomy is available as cards, prints and coasters. (And even some great animal puns thrown in for good measure) 
Our favourite was Anatomy of a Sloth with her accidental creation Honest Blob a close second.

PINHEAD

 
Lapel pins and other boss bits by Amy Collins of PINHEAD.  Amy also does custom orders but was selling her fan favourites at this years markets.
 Our favorite was the Special Edition Klopp Mug. Notable mention goes to Children of Liverpool Charity pin, Liverbird Wings, Jennifer Johnston which we picked up on the day.

AbbySumnerDesign

 
Abby is a graphic designer and make who creates colourful risograph prints, stationery, embroidered pieces and textile plants. Abby’s stall is always an eye-catcher at the markets with her fabulous bright colours and beautiful bold designs. 
Our favorite is the Christmas Tree Rex crimbo card.

Emily Ellen Illustration

 
Welsh illustrator Emily Clark’s eclectic mix of vibrant, and playful pieces. From prints, to postcards  to jewellery, you’re sorted! 
Our favorite is the Robert Smith / Cure print.   Or Amy’s personal fave, the Blondie Print  *Sings “Call Me” in head*

Make North Docks resident Max, aka Rawhide Custom was showcasing his intricate stitching and leather work including his new bifold wallets and classic belts.
Our favourite is the personally embossed Bifold wallet, what a gift!

Workshops

 
We LOVE workshops at Make,  so we have to mention the amazing crafty workshops that were on offer at these wintery markets.

At the Winter Arkade we saw contemporary art space Convenience Gallery with a very festive paint your own baubles workshop and colour your own Christmas cards.  You can find Convenience Gallery at Birkenhead Market where they hold regular exhibitions and workshops!
Arty Aunties Craft Club made their debut at the Winter Arts Market, helming you make your own festive gingerbread character!
