Made by Make is delighted to partner with Liverpool ONE to unveil two enchanting festive installations for their November shopping extravaganza. Staying true to our commitment to sustainability, we’ve reimagined previous commissions, infusing them with festive cheer and transforming them into something truly magical.
A Winter Wonderland
Our talented team of artists and craftspeople worked diligently at Make North Docks to reimagine past creations into wintry delights. The Reputation Throne, originally part of the Liverpool Loves Taylor Swift series, has been transformed into a dazzling Frosted Throne. Once dark and dramatic, it now shimmers in icy tones, complemented by its backdrop, which has been repurposed as the North Pole Post Box display. Similarly, the vibrant 1989 installation has been given new life as the whimsical Enchanted Toy Box.
Crafting the Magic
This creative vision was led by our Artistic Director, Kirsten, and brought to life by an incredible team of designers and makers.
- Greg and Zoe Elleen from Xyleia expertly designed and constructed the installations, ensuring durability and charm.
- Jaime Mora Fernandez from Mulberry Workshop used precision CNC cutting to craft intricate details for the toy box and festive backdrops.
- Rachel Smith-Evans from Quirky Design Co added her signature vibrant colours and playful touches to the wooden elements, and resprayed the throne in icy colours.
- Ian Currie reimagined the Reputation Throne’s skull-shaped arms into elegant ship figureheads, while Rachel applied a frosty palette to the entire structure.
- Brantina Chisango from B’VARI reupholstered the throne seat, completing the throne’s winter transformation.
To make the experience truly magical, we collaborated with Venya Krutikov to create a special audio feature. Now, visitors to the North Pole Post Box can receive personalised messages from Santa himself after posting their Christmas letters.
