Last year at Maker we were able to realize our dream of creating an open-access workshop for makers and artists. Over the past year, we have created a well-stocked wood workshop that’s open to all Make Liverpool members! What we’d like to do next, with your help, is build an open access metal workshop. Fully equipped and full of tools, it will give makers, artists and small businesses access to a completely new resource to make, mend, invent and experiment.
Why Metalwork? Well, metalwork equipment can be extremely expensive for individuals to buy, and it is frequently beyond most people’s reach to buy tools as well as find a safe space to learn and experiment. That’s where Make comes in. At Make, our goal is to build the ultimate tool resource ‘shed’, where anyone (once they’ve had an induction!) can come to test the different ways of making things. Our goal is to share knowledge, skills, creativity, and to promote innovation.
There are lots of ways you can help.
The first way to help is by donating! We’re trying to raise £10,000 in just 30 days, so any donation large or small will help us make this plan a reality. No matter what amount we raise, everything will be going into the workshop so that the members of Make Liverpool have the best experience possible. There are tons of great perks to choose from, and everyone who donates will have their name written on a giant Supporter’s Wall in our workshop!
