We’re still on a high from our Summer Arkade last week with Invisible Wind Factory. In case you missed it and wanted to get an early start on your festive shopping or just want to treat yourself, we’ve rounded up some highlights and favourites from the day!
LESLEY’S LINENS
Lesleys Linens is always an Arkade favourite of mine. There are lots of choices for shoppers, from bandanas for your dog to bandanas for yourself, soap keepers and beautiful tote bags.
Our favourite was the floral hair bandana. I even treated myself to one for hols!
BETTY BOTANICS
Betty Botanics is another business with an eclectic mix of goods to shop. Their drink garnishes add the perfect extra flavouring to your cocktails. They also sell fabulous accessories. My favourite is the dried flower pendant necklace!
TASTY BAKER
If you’re looking for tasty vegan baked goods, Tasty Baker is the place to look. Everything from flavoured bagels to bread, cakes and savouries. Always a good treat whilst you’re walking around our Arkade (they also supply our bagels in the café at Make Hamilton).
AURA LIVING
Always a favourite of mine is Aura Living’s stunning homeware pieces. From coasters to centrepieces, crockery and more. Aura Living’s pieces make the perfect gift or stylish decor for your home. My favourite is the terrazzo coasters. You can even learn how to make your own set with their terrazzo kits!
EAT UP GUD
Every year I’m super excited that EAT UP GUD joins us at the arkade as their food is delicious!
With flavours from the Caribbean, their delicious curries are sure to keep you well-fed and satisfied for the day! With gluten-free and vegan options available too.
THE HEALTHY GUT COMPANY
Another one for the taste buds is The Healthy Gut Company. Their kombucha is fermented right here in Liverpool and is super tasty! At the Arkade, you could sample their flavours and buy a cup to refresh you as you explored the Arkade. You could also buy a bottle of your favourite to take home with you!
LOOPY AS LOTTIE
For fun colourful gifts, I loved browsing Loopy as Lottie’s crocheted goods! Lottie is the creator of cute crochet with plush plants, rainbows and cakes. My favourite was the smiley sun keyring.
WORKSHOPS
PUN POTS
We LOVE workshops at Make, so of course we had to include them at our Summer Arkade. This year we teamed up with QUIRKY DESIGN CO to run Pun Pots, and what a success. Participants learnt how to turn a simple terracotta pot into a colourful statement piece for your home, with the addition of a funny pun!
Rachel has another workshop coming up with us at Make in collaboration with Emma’s Wild Garden, where you can paint and plant your own beautiful garden chair! Tickets available HERE.
MUSIC
It wouldn’t be a big summer event without some tunes would it? We had an amazing array of music throughout the day, with DJ Howard bringing us big hits, to the brilliant rag time 5 piece THE JUBILEE STOMPERS, and soulful duo Lotus Blossoms.
We’re already prepping for our Winter Arkade. Set the date in your diary for Sunday the 4th of December. We’ll be bringing a wintery shopping wonderland for the fifth year running!
Applications are coming soon.
